What is Yoga?
There are many styles of yoga and many teachers, but yoga is essentially the practice of linking the mind, body and breath. When practised regularly, yoga can help to ease tension in the body and mind, stretch muscles, increase flexibility and ease of movement, enhance balance, improve breathing, develop strength and stamina, cultivate a focussed, calm mind, improve circulation, and much more. Many people report feeling calm and yet energised after a class and more aware of, or in touch with, their inner selves.
What is Yoga Therapy?
Yoga therapy is focused on assisting a person or a small group of people with particular medical conditions. Yoga therapy is tailored to the needs of the group or individual and works on posture, breathing and deep relaxation to promote healing and acceptance and to complement medical treatment. It can be particularly appropriate for managing chronic health conditions.
